Paradise Found!

Sea Canoe Adventure in Phang Nga Bay!

Went for a sea kayak adventure in Phang Na Bay yesterday with the wonderful people at "Sea Canoe Phuket" (highly recommend it!!) Indescribable. But we'll do our best... started out with a beautiful boat ride to the unimaginably spectacular islands in the Gulf of Thailand. Went through caves, hongs & "other-worldly" lagoons. Saw sea eagles, monkeys, walking fish, long Tom fish (that hydroplane across the water), lizards, bats, jellyfish, rainbows & views that left us completely breathless. Lunch was an incredible spread of jackfish, spicy chicken, lemon grass beef, fried seafood & sweet local fruit. Our guides were amazing! They kept us safe, well fed & laughing the entire time! Even when we thought we were "stuck" in one of the water caves they still kept us laughing! We thought we had "sprung a leak" & that our Sea Kayak was "capsizing", however it was just our guide letting out some air so that we could squeeze through one of the tightest spots imaginable (and I've been spelunking... I know about tight spaces! lol) Our guide "Mai Mai" & Charlie also did the Ol' 1...2...3... heave ho & got us through a spot so tight it was definitely not for the faint of heart! It was however completely worth it as once through the cave opened up to a mind-blowing lagoon like we've never seen before! Not a bad start to the morning!
The afternoon consisted of lounging by the infinity pool overlooking the ocean at our amazing hotel. Jen fell off of her bar stool at the swim-up bar, but of course was not hurt! LOL... Little side note... Russian children like to pee in outdoor showers... lol, but hey at least it's not in the pool! Dinner was incredible - best red snapper we've had in a LONG time!
Next day... (today)... checking out of the hotel in Phuket we pulled the "Ugly American" trick when a group of Japanese tourists (with many many children) were screaming & yelling so loud we couldn't hear the front desk receptionist so of course we began to shout to each other which gave the receptionist a good laugh. She winked at us and then walked over to the tourists & told them to be quiet. Shockingly enough the trick worked as it suddenly became very peaceful in the lobby once again. :-)  Had an awesome speed boat ride over to the island of Koh Yao Yai (felt like James Bond in the get away boat) - INCREDIBLE! We all couldn't resist, and of course did the "Titanic - I'm KING OF THE WORLD" impression at the front off the boat! Now we're at our insanely beautiful bungalow at Koh Yao Yao Village - simply mind blowing! Spent the afternoon lounging in yet another infinity pool overlooking the spectacular Gulf of Thailand. Now it's time for a traditional Thai dinner... gotta go... xoxo
P.S. We MIGHT be able to download pictures here. Stay tuned...

Thanks for the beautiful memories Mai Mai!

This was "Diamond Cave". Can you see the "diamonds"??

Relaxing among the mangroves in a beautiful lagoon.

He blends well, but can you see our lagoon host?
